Wearable capacitive pressure sensor using interdigitated capacitor printed on fabric

Abstract This paper presented a systematic approach to electro-textile pressure sensors dependent on interdigitated capacitors (IDCs) printed fabric. In this study, we proposed highly sensitive, broad-range sensor based the combination of porous Ecoflex, carbon nanotubes (CNTs), and electrodes. Firstly, characterizations capacitor using silver ink Cotton Polyester fabric were completed by precision LCR meter across frequency range from 1 300 kHz. The effect performance sensitivity was included. Secondly, estimating optimizing volume fraction CNTs air gaps properties composites are presence enhanced bond strength improved deformability. robustness demonstrated testing under high at 400 kPa for more than 20,000 cycles. Thirdly, dielectric achieved broad detection (400 kPa) with 0.035 (at 0.15 $${\mathrm{KPa}}^{-1}$$ KPa - 1 50 kPa). Finally, substrate comparison demonstrates that selecting suitable affects signal output.
